Tim Carter has been playing music for as long as he can
remember. He is a highly respected instrumentalist as well as a an
accomplished engineer. As someone who has seen both sides of the board, he
is a better musician for it. Tim's background includes working with
brother Danny in The Carter Brothers, operating Treetop Studios as a
producer/engineer just outside Nashville, a much sought-after multi-instrumental
sideman, and a solo artist.
His recent CD, Bang Bang!, has received critical
acclaim and was recently featured in Banjo Newsletter. The project
included some of the most celebrated names in bluegrass and acoustic music
including Tim O'Brien, Alison Brown, Casey Driessen, Matt Flinner, Tim Stafford,
Jim Hurst, Rob Ickes, Ross Sermon, and Danny Carter.
Grammy winning banjo player Alison Brown says, "Tim
Carter's music reminds of the things I love most about playing
bluegrass. There's a real joy in his playing and singing and a great
love for the music, both its tradition and the fellowship the playing with
others creates. I always enjoy the chance to be a -art of Tim's
